OKMULGEE, Oklahoma — A Muscogee (Creek) Nation National Council Business, Finance and Justice Committee meeting was held July 17 at the Mound Building in Okmulgee.
Audio of the session is available at: www.mcnnc.com.
All passed legislation will go before the full Council during the regular session July 28.
BFJ addressed the following legislation, the interpretation of which is attributed to language in the bills:
TR18-089 Approving the sale of beer and liquor at MCN gaming facilities. Rep. Robert Hufft sponsored the resolution, which passed 4-0.
The resolution streamlines the State’s new liquor license application process allowing for the continued sale of alcohol at the Nation’s gaming facilities.
NCA 18-112 Authorizing a $2,000 donation to Drew Edmondson, a political candidate. Rep. Pete Beaver sponsored the amendment, which passed 4-0.
The amendment allows for a donation to be made to the campaign of Edmondson, who is running for governor of Oklahoma.
BFJ approved the funding source for all referred legislation as interest on the Permanent Fund.
Details of this legislation can be found in Mvskoke Media’s coverage of the Health, Education and Welfare Committee, Land, Natural Resources and Cultural Preservation Committee and joint committee sessions.
